Tygaran has connected.

Tygaran:

eithe rI’m late and everyone left.. or
I’m early??

Jshock-GM:

You’re on time, Xie and JeffMike are
playing other games

Jshock-GM:

grumble

Jshock-GM:

They’re coming

Jshock-GM:

You’re not on skype are you? I might
have asked that

Tygaran:

I have skype – the tuesday game I
playu in uses it

Xie has connected.

Xie:

Hola!

JeffG has connected.

Jshock-GM:

Hola, mi amigo. Como esta?

JeffG:

Run faster! RUN FASTER!

JeffG:

Also, I’m finally playing Deus Ex:
Human Revolution.

Xie:

Um… ci senor? XD

Jshock-GM:

I played a bit of that

Jshock-GM:

Sounds like they kind of shoehorn you
into using a gun

JeffG:

Just the boss fights.

JeffG:

I heard they were fixing those for the
Director’s Cut Wii U version.

Xie:

That’s a good game

Jshock-GM:

So, yeah. Jeff asked me, I’ll ask you
two. Should we wait a bit for Drekkan?

Xie:

I still think the original Deus Ex is
the best

Xie:

Even with its bad graphics

Jshock-GM:

I’ve never played the original…

Xie:

Call me old fashioned

JeffG:

The original’s awesome.

  • Jshock-GM prepares to dodge thrown objects

Xie:

Oh, well don’t try it now, it’ll hurt
your eyes too much

Xie:

The graphics were great at the time

Xie:

It was SO GOOD though. From the
musical score, to the gameplay, character options…

Jshock-GM:

Oh, I forgot, because I’m a bad DM;
what did you end up taking with your XP, Jeff?

JeffG:

Rank 2 in Computers.

Jshock-GM:

Oh, OK; I recorded it, then forgot I
did.

  • Jshock-GM is one step closer to Prof.
    Farnsworth

  • Xie:

I’ve totally been doing destiny points
    wrong, I think…

    Xie:

I’ve been adding a force die to the
roll, instead of upgrading/adding an ability die…

    Jshock-GM:

Uh, yeah, that’s not so right.

    Mathus:

I imagine I’ll actually get something
ship-related for the next XP… once we actually use a ship, mind
    you.

    Xie:

Yeah. I figured that out once I
    actually read the rules XD

    Jshock-GM:

Oh, that should come up pretty soon..

    Xie:

    Drek joining us tonight?

    Mathus:

Hopefully, I think he mentioned he
    might be working late.

    Jshock-GM:

We’ll call it 9:30, then get started.

    Mathus:

    K.

    Xie:

makes a Shooting her mouth off check!

    Successes:
    None
    / Advantage: 1

    Mathus:

Mind if we roll the force dice now?

    Xie:

    … makes perfect

    Jshock-GM:

    THat’s cool with me

    Mathus:

    makes a check!

    Successes:
    None
    / No Advantage or Threat
    Light Side: 0 / Dark
    Side: 1

    Jshock-GM:

    YESSSS

    Xie:

    nuuuuu! XD

    Xie:

    makes a Destiny check!

    Successes:
    None
    / No Advantage or Threat
    Light Side: 2 / Dark
    Side: 0

    Xie:

    Ha!

    Xie:

We’re gonna need those points to get
    our asses outa this sandpit

    Mathus:

Also Jshock, there is a way to die
    in this system.

    Mathus:

Check the Beta crit charts, around
    150+.

    Jshock-GM:

Yeah, I saw that; we’re on basic game
ATM though. No such crit (yet).

    Jshock-GM:

Not that 150+ pops up every day…

    Mathus:

Ah, so we’re not using quite the
    rules of the Beta?

    Xie:

We’re using the starter set rules

    Jshock-GM:

Yeah; I’m making my way through it

    Xie:

    (I think)

    Xie:

Been flicking through the beta though
and OMG I LOVE THIS SYSTEM

    Jshock-GM:

    Right, we’re red box D&D

    Xie:

    Hahaha

    Jshock-GM:

    Red box was the shiznit

    Xie:

In 15 years we’ll be telling teenagers
that we played the ORIGINAL FFG RPG system

    Xie:

When they’re playing the fancy 3.5
edition of the game that’s completely different

    Jshock-GM:

Alright, we’re 9:30 already. Time to
get this show on the road…

    Xie:

    OK

    Mathus:

    "AAAAAAH!"

    Jshock-GM:

makes a absentee wookiee force check!

    Successes:
    None
    / No Advantage or Threat
    Light Side: 1 / Dark
    Side: 0

    Xie:

    Yay wookiee

    Jshock-GM:

    Tyg?

    Jshock-GM:

Ping? Is it possible to lose
    connection with yourself?

    Mathus:

    pang

    Xie:

    lol

    Jshock-GM:

    Well, anyway

    Jshock-GM:

    SESSION RECAP

Whe we last left our protagonists, they had deduced
that the ship they were attempting to steal – the KRAYT
FANG – was being held in place with a tractor beam; the
controls to said tractorbeam wereslaved to the main
terminals at MOS SHUUTA’s command center. A short
confersation and a greased palm later, and the tractor
    beam was shut off.

On the way back to DOCKING BAY AUREK, they were
intercepted by two squads of imperial stormtroopers –
stormtroopers possibly controlled by the infamous TEEMO
THE HUTT! Rather than fight, the group chose to flee into
the docking bay, where they hope to make good their
    escape…

    Jshock-GM: (( aiiii, the typos… ))

    Xie:

    XD

    Xie:

That’s impressive, is that a macro?

    Jshock-GM:

    Yes; it’s basically a 1 cell table

    Jshock-GM:

    Lots of cell padding

    Xie:

    Of course, with padding

    Xie:

Maybe later we can have a confersation
    about it

    Xie:

    :3

    Jshock-GM:

OK, so the loading ramp of the ship is
yawning wide open… stormtroopers are banging at the door to the
    bay…

    • Mathus open the hangar doors last session,
      right?

    Mathus:

    For launch?

    Jshock-GM:

Yeah, nothing stopping you from firinh
    her up at thiss point

    Taliq:

    "MAAATHUSS!!"

    • Mathus is already firing it up.

Taliq: (( Can I shut the loading ramp? ))

    Jshock-GM:

    Sure

Mathus: (( I believe you said it was a Mechanics
roll to start ’er up? ))

Taliq: (( Is everyone on board? ))

  • Taliq does a quick headcount

  • Lowurra:

    • Lowurra lurches up the ramp full speed

    Jshock-GM:

    Who’s flying, Mathus?

    • Taliq closes the ramp

  • Taliq … and heads to the cockpit?

  • Mathus barely has any piloting.

  • Jshock-GM:

    Pilot actually, no diff

    Mathus: (( I have 1/2 PIloting. I assume someone
    else has more. ))

Taliq: (( lol, yeah its OK I got this ))

Taliq: (( So long as I don’t roll a despair
    >.> ))

  • Mathus is busy playing the Ship’s Engineer.

  • Taliq jumps into the pilot seat and starts
    flicking switches

  • Mathus:

So, I need a Mechanics roll to start
    things up?

    Jshock-GM:

    No

    Jshock-GM:

After @ a minut of preflight, Taliq
gets her going. You launch just as the stormtroopers burst through
    blasters blazing…

    • Mathus breathes a sigh of relief.

    Mathus:

"Whew, I think the worst is behind us
    now…"

  • Mathus checks the systems/etc, standard
    techie stuff.

  • Jshock-GM:

    Not so fast…

    Taliq:

"We’re not out of it yet…"

    Mathus:

"What are they going to do? Have ships
waiting for us above just in case?"

    Jshock-GM:

Just as you clear the planet, you see
a venator-II star destroyer in orbit. It’s hailing on an open
    channel.

  • Mathus ‘s jaw drops.

  • Taliq:

    "Oh shiiii…. Mathus….. How’s the
    hyperdrive looking?"

Mathus: (( How is it looking? ))

    star destroyer:

CEASE YOUR ACTIONS! PREPARE TO BE
    BOARDED!

    Taliq:

    "Uh… we’ve got a reactor leak…"

    star destroyer:

It looks fine to you. The don’t do
anything with out a flight plan, though.

    Taliq:

    "Negative…."

Mathus: (( Is Taliq talking to Mathus? Or the
    Star Destroyer? ))

    star destroyer:

You see a wing of TIE fighters shoot
out of the ship and start heading towards you…

Taliq: (( Star Destroyer XD ))

  • Mathus groans out loud.

  • star destroyer:

OK. Cool based init for everyone…

    Mathus:

"I just wanted to escape Teemo! Why is
there a STAR DESTROYER after us now?!"

    Taliq:

    lol

    star destroyer:

    Where is Tygaran?

    Mathus:

    makes a Cool check!

    Successes:
    1
    / Advantage: 1
    Light Side: 0 / Dark Side: 1

    Xie:

makes a Cool for cats check!

    Successes:
    None
    / Advantage: 5

Mathus: (( Dunno, he hasn’t said anything since
    we started. ))

    Jshock-GM:

    makes a TIE pilots check!

    Successes:
    1

    Tygaran:

… silly thing didn’t beep when you
    got started… I’m here…

    star destroyer:

    Oh, OK, got worried there

Taliq: (( lol, hey Tygaran. We totally
    waited for you :3 ))

    star destroyer:

we need a force roll and a cool based
    init

    Tygaran:

    makes a check!

    Successes:
    None

    The Dark Side:

    INCREASE THE FORCE

    The Dark Side:

    Taliq: (( LOL ))

    The Dark Side:

    INCREASE THE FORCE

    The Force:

    DECREASE THE FORCE

    Tygaran:

    makes a init check!

    Successes:
    1
    / Advantage: 2

    Mathus:

    So… Piloting & Gunners are
self-explanatory. What does the Engineer do midbattle?

    star destroyer:

Keeps the ship from falling apart at
    the seams

Taliq: (( Programs the hyperdive nav
    computer ))

    Taliq: (( ?
    ))

    star destroyer:

    That too

Taliq: (( My kingdom for an R2
    ))

    star destroyer:

    OK, explanations before anyone goes.

    star destroyer:

Everyone has ownership of the FAng, so
you should be able to see the info macros

    Krayt Fang:

    Damage Control – repair criticals

    Engineer only

Action: The engineer makes a Mechanics check
vs a critically damaged system (difficulty noted below):

    No. of Criticals

    Check Difficulty

    1 crit

    Easy ()

    2 crits

    Average ()

    3+ crits

    Hard ()

If successful, the damaged system is repaired.

    Krayt Fang:

Damage Control – repair Hull / System Strain

    Engineer only

Action: The engineer makes a Mechanics check
vs either the ship’s Hull or System Strain (difficulty noted
    below):

    Total Trauma / Strain

    Check Difficulty

Less than half of ship’s threshold

    Easy ()

    Equal to half ship’s threshold

    Average ()

    More than half ship’s threshold

    Hard ()

    Exceeds ship’s trheshold

    Daunting ()

If successful, the engineer repairs 1 point of hull trauma
or system strain. Only one damage control per source of hull
trauma is allowed (though the engineer may check against
system strain as many times as needed).

    Lowurra:

    • Lowurra spends his turn climbing into the
      other turrett

    Lowurra:

Lowurra is healed and gains back 0
    wounds.
Lowurra is healed and gains back 12 strain.

    star destroyer:

    The ship is currently going speed 1;
you’ll need to accelerate for the pilot to do most of her cool
    actions

    star destroyer:

Silhouette is basically how big you
are. It’s easier to hit things bigger than yourself

    Mathus:

    How many guns we have?

    star destroyer:

    1 dorsal, 1 ventral

    star destroyer:

    Standard for YT-1300s

Taliq: (( That’s top and bottom?
    ))

    star destroyer: (( yes :D ))

Taliq: (( I’ll make a starship captain yet!
    :3 ))

    star destroyer:

RAnge brackets are basically like they
normally are; Engaged is replaced by Close

    star destroyer:

Handling adds either boost or setback
to your Pilot checks. The Fang doesn ot handle nimbly.

    Taliq: (( Great…
    ))

    star destroyer:

Defense are shields; it adds Setback
    to anyone shooting at you.

    star destroyer:

    Armor is Soak, basically

Taliq: (( Amor is soak? ))

    Taliq: (( Jinx ))

    star destroyer:

Hull points are Wounds. They drop to
    0, BAD.

    star destroyer:

System Strain is like personal strain.
They drop to 0, systems overload, ship shuts down.

    Krayt Fang:

    Vehicle gunnery check

    Gunner only

Action: The Krayt Fang opens fire on a target!
The gunner makes a Gunnery check (difficulty noted
    below):

    Difference in Silhouette

    Base Check Difficulty

Same Sil, or 1 point larger or smaller

    Average ()

Firing vessel is 2 or more Sil smaller than target

    Easy ()

Firing vessel is 2 or more Sil larget than target

    Hard ()

Firing vessel is 3 or more Sil larger than target

    Daunting ()

    If successful, the gunner hits.

Taliq: (( I plan to strain the ship alot,
    heads up
    ))

    star destroyer:

Gunnery issn’t based on range bracket,
but on how big the target is

    star destroyer:

I think that covers the basics.
    Everything else is everything else.

    star destroyer:

    So, who’s doing what?

    Mathus:

I need to chart a course for us to
    hyperjump, right?

    Mathus:

    I’ll start doing that first.

    star destroyer:

    Look waaaaaaay to the north…

    • Jaana Raeth ha found our Taliq is a better
      pilot, so mans a gun…

    Taliq: (( I can’t see initiative, should I?
    ))

    star destroyer:

Thoes TIES are at Extreme right now

    Taliq: (( OOOOOH SHIIIIIIIIII ))

    Taliq: (( P ))

    star destroyer:

    NPCS were hid

  • Xie has been invested with a sense of scale

  • star destroyer:

    Should be up now

    Xie:

    Yup, I see

    Xie:

So long as Taliq goes before the star
destroyer, y’all can have the first 2 turns

    Xie:

Everyone OK with me turning the ship
    around and fanging it?

    Mathus:

    Does fanging mean "fighting" or
    "running like hell"?

Taliq: (( Sorry, Australian term – moving as
fast as possible, or faster ))

    Jshock-GM:

Here’s the options I see for the pilot
    at this point:

    Krayt Fang:

    Accelerate / Deaccelerate

    Pilot only

Maneuver: The Krayt Fang increases or
decreases its speed by 1 (minimum 0, maximum 4).

    Krayt Fang:

    Punch It!

    Pilot only, Sil 1-4

Maneuver: The Krayt Fang goes from its current
speed to its maximum (4). Ship suffers 1 point of system
strain for each point of speed between its current and
    maximum speeds.

Mathus: (( Yes. Jshock, what do we need to do to
escape? Does Mathus need to put in an Astrogation destination? ))

Taliq: (( Can I burn a ship strain to use an
    extra maneuver? ))

    Jshock-GM:

Yes, you’re going to have to program a
    jump. Astrogation.

    Jshock-GM:

    Let me check diff…

Taliq: (( Mathus feel free to go first… ))

    Mathus: (( K. ))

Taliq: (( Then one of the gunners, probably
    Jaana, then me ))

    Jshock-GM:

    Let’s call it Average (2p); you’re
    under the gun

    • Jaana Raeth has 3 green in Astro (fyi).. in
      case it matters

  • Mathus has 1/4 in Astro.

  • Jshock-GM:

Also, you’ll have to move out of the
engineering bay and into the cockpit

    Mathus:

You guys mind if I burn a Force point
    to bump that up?

    • Jaana Raeth is the 3.5 bard of this
system… decent at everything but not the best at anything

  • Mathus darts into the cockpit.

  • Mathus:

    "Right, the Astrogation navigation!"

Taliq: (( UM NO, the sooner we jump the
    better ))

    The Force:

    DECREASE THE FORCE

    The Dark Side:

    INCREASE THE FORCE

    Jshock-GM:

    Roll ’em

Xie: (( Spool up the FTL!!! ))

    Jaana Raeth:

do what you feel you have to… I’ll
take the init after the enemies…

    Mathus:

    makes a Astrogation check!

    Successes:
    2
    / Advantage: 2
    Triumph: 1/

Taliq: (( Well jaana you should at least go
    before Drek
    ))

    • Mathus quickly whips out the proper
      terminal, rapidly typing…

    Taliq:

    "Mathus… get it done?"

    • Taliq smiles weakly

    Jshock-GM:

OK, you feed the navicomputer an
emergency point like a pro. I’s processing, telling you it will be
a few seconds before its ready (4 rounds)…

Mathus: (( What can I use the Triumph for? ))

    Taliq: (( Triumph woo ))

Jaana Raeth: (( are those tie fighters even in
range? looks like they’r ein our last ‘halo’ ))

    Jshock-GM:

I used it for you to shorten your time

    Jshock-GM:

Unless you had a better idea?

    Mathus: (( That’s perfectly fine! ))

    Taliq: (( Yeah that’s OK ))

    Mathus:

    "Emergency nav point entered, just
gotta wait a few seconds for it to process!"

    Mathus:

"…And try not to die during that
    time."

    • Mathus pales as he looks out at the Star
      Destroyer.

    Taliq:

"… no worries.. take your time…"

    • Taliq laughs darkly

    Mathus:

"I can’t make it process any faster!
We just need to hold together until then!"

Taliq: (( OK can I punch it and take evasive
    maneuvers? ))

    • Mathus groans a bit as he glances back out
      at the Star Destroyer.

    Jshock-GM:

You can make 1 maneuver base, strain
    the systems for another

    Mathus:

"…I just wanted to quit my job. Why
am I being chased by a Star Destroyer now?"

Taliq: (( … Oh and do I need to turn
    around first? XD ))

Taliq: (( i.e. does ship facing matter?
    ))

    Jshock-GM:

    It’s freeform; I’m assuming you’re
    maneuvering as best you can

    Taliq: (( Cool ))

    Jshock-GM:

I think facing might matter in beta
though, something to keep in mind

Taliq: (( OK so one setback for handlig,
    what’s difficulty? ))

    Krayt Fang:

    Punch It!

    Pilot only, Sil 1-4

Maneuver: The Krayt Fang goes from its current
speed to its maximum (4). Ship suffers 1 point of system
strain for each point of speed between its current and
    maximum speeds.

    Jshock-GM:

    It’s no roll

    Krayt Fang:

    Evasive Maneuvers

Pilot only, Sil 1-4, Spd 3+

Maneuver: The Krayt Fang goes on evasive
maneuvers until the end of the pilot’s next turn. During
that time, the difficulty of all attacks the Krayt Fang
makes upgrades by one. Likewise, all attacks made against
the Krayt Fang during that time are upgraded by 1.

Taliq: (( Oh cool, no roll needed ))

    Jshock-GM:

    That’s a minor quibble I’ve seen; a
lot of ship based stuff is no roll for the pilot

    Taliq: (( So that’s 2 strain? ))

    Jshock-GM:

    yes

    Jshock-GM:

    Oh, I didn’t transfer a couple of
    macros, hang on

Taliq: (( yeah, seems strange… Not much
point buying points in Pilot, is there?
    ))

    Jshock-GM:

    I have a hunch they’ll change that

Taliq: (( Oh, do I still have an action? ))

Taliq: (( Gain the Advantage requires a
    pilot check, it seems ))

    Jshock-GM:

    Yeah

    Krayt Fang:

    Gain the Advantage

Pilot only, Sil 1-4, Spd 4+

Action: The Krayt Fang tries to position
itself for a better attack the following round. The pilot
makes a Pilot check (difficulty noted below):

    Difference in Speed

    Check Difficulty

    Same spd as target

    Average ()

    Spd 1 higher than target’s

    Easy ()

    Spd 1 lower than target’s

    Hard ()

Spd 2 or more lower than target’s

    Daunting ()

If successful, the pilot ignores all penalties imposed by
the Evasive Maneuvers until the end of the following round.
The target may try to cance lout this penalty by Gaining the
Advantage himself (but the check is 1 step more difficult).

    Jshock-GM:

OK. You can now damage / repair the
    ship

Taliq: (( What’s the difficulty? How fast is
    the destroyer going? ))

    Jshock-GM:

Oh, your gaining on the destroyer

    You whisper to Xie: the
destroyer is a setpiece; GAin on one of the TIE groups

Jaana Raeth: (( ^ pullign away from I’d hope
    ))

Taliq: (( How fast is the Tie Fighter
    squadron going?
    ))

    Jshock-GM:

    They are currently speed 2

Mathus: (( So 2 strain to the Fang? ))

    Taliq:

makes a DO A BARREL ROLL check!

    Successes:

    Krayt Fang:

Krayt Fang takes 0 hull damage.
    Krayt
    Fang takes 2 system strain.

    Jshock-GM:

Also, I’m playing these ties like
minions too; crits autokill, they fight as groups, etc

Taliq: (( OK I’m done… Jaana shoot to
    kill! ))

    Jaana Raeth:

ok.. so I’ve got 3 greens for my
gunnery.. looks like 2 purple as ties are same size? anything else?

    Jshock-GM:

    Go ahead and roll

    Jaana Raeth:

Mathus: (( I think the TIEs are out of range.

    Jshock-GM:

    Mathus calls it

Mathus: (( Perhaps get in the Gunner’s seat &
    aim? ))

    Jshock-GM:

You take a pot shot, your beam
diffuses after a while. You’ll need to wait for them to close in

Taliq: (( I could get closer to them if you
    like
    ))

    Jshock-GM:

Also, you can aim with your move
action; the maneuvers that make sense can be done

    Jaana Raeth:

guess I’ll start aiming for if/when
    they get in range…

    Jaana Raeth:

    done…

    Jshock-GM:

Alright; TIEs spend maneuver + Action
to accelerate to 4, move in a range

    Jshock-GM:

Remind me to adjust these halos in
    between sessions…

    Lowurra:

    • Lowurra pounds the console, demands the TIEs
close in so he can hit them with his axe

    Jshock-GM:

    NExt?

    Taliq: (( Mathus gagin ))

    Taliq: (( *again ))

    Krayt Fang:

Damage Control – repair Hull / System Strain

    Engineer only

Action: The engineer makes a Mechanics check
vs either the ship’s Hull or System Strain (difficulty noted
    below):

    Total Trauma / Strain

    Check Difficulty

Less than half of ship’s threshold

    Easy ()

    Equal to half ship’s threshold

    Average ()

    More than half ship’s threshold

    Hard ()

    Exceeds ship’s trheshold

    Daunting ()

If successful, the engineer repairs 1 point of hull trauma
or system strain. Only one damage control per source of hull
trauma is allowed (though the engineer may check against
system strain as many times as needed).

    • Mathus will go last, actually.

    Taliq: (( OK… ))

    Jshock-GM:

    Yeah…

    Mathus:

Although the TIEs still aren’t in
    range, right?

    Taliq: (( Um… I guess I’ll go then? ))

    Jshock-GM:

    Too bad minions can’t strain
    themselves….

    • Mathus will go after Taliq strains the ship
      again.

    Taliq: (( lol ))

    Krayt Fang:

    Fly

    Pilot only

Maneuver: The Krayt Fang changes its relative
position with a single ship (or wing of ships):

    Speed 1:
1 starship maneuver to to move while within
close range of a target, or 2 maneuvers to move from Close
    to Short (or vice versa).
    • Speed 2-4: 1
starship maneuver to move while within close range of a
target, or from Close to Short (or vice versa). 2 starship
maneuvers to move from Close to Medium (or vice versa).

    Speed 5-6:
1 starship maneuver to move while within
close range of a target, or from Close to Medium (or vice
versa). 2 starship maneuvers to move frome Close to Long (or
    vice versa).

Taliq: (( Oh, so it’s not absolute position
    based movement? ))

    Jshock-GM:

    You’re flying towards the ties?

    Jshock-GM:

no; you can basically change one
    group’s position

    Taliq: (( Interesting! ))

    Jshock-GM:

Makes more sense if you think of it
    like a chase

    Krayt Fang:

    Evasive Maneuvers

Pilot only, Sil 1-4, Spd 3+

Maneuver: The Krayt Fang goes on evasive
maneuvers until the end of the pilot’s next turn. During
that time, the difficulty of all attacks the Krayt Fang
makes upgrades by one. Likewise, all attacks made against
the Krayt Fang during that time are upgraded by 1.

    Krayt Fang:

    Gain the Advantage

Pilot only, Sil 1-4, Spd 4+

Action: The Krayt Fang tries to position
itself for a better attack the following round. The pilot
makes a Pilot check (difficulty noted below):

    Easy ()

    Spd 1 lower than target’s

    Hard ()

Spd 2 or more lower than target’s

If successful, the pilot ignores all penalties imposed by
the Evasive Maneuvers until the end of the following round.
The target may try to cance lout this penalty by Gaining the
Advantage himself (but the check is 1 step more difficult).

    put on the ship?

Taliq: (( Mathus! Fix the strain I caused XD
    ))

    • Taliq cracks a whip

OK; top of the round; navicomputer
finally beeps. I’m assumong you’re using the first action to flip
    the ‘hyperspace’ lever, Taliq…

Taliq: (( … do we want another pass at
    them?
    ))

    Mathus: (( NO! ))

Taliq: (( How about we go just before they
    do ))

Taliq: (( Let lowarra and Jaana take one
    more shot…
    ))

    • Taliq hesitates as she sees the blinking
      "Hyperdrive active" light

    Taliq:

    "Make it count people!"

    Taliq:

    "One more pass!"

    Taliq: (( .>
    ))

    Jshock-GM:

Ok. Stay on Target is still active

    Jshock-GM:

    Jaana, you have the honors

    • Jaana Raeth shrugs and hope her targtign
      system is no longer glitching…

    Jaana Raeth:

    makes a Gunnery check!

    Successes:
    6
    / Threat: 1

    Jshock-GM:

    Holy sheet woman

    Jshock-GM:

    that’s 11 dmg

    Taliq: (( OH DAYAM! ))

    • Jaana Raeth guesses she justr needed to bang
      on it a little…

Taliq: (( Yeah… you figured it out
    eventually XD ))

    Jshock-GM:

    so, let’s see; that’s 11-2 for 9, 1
tie soaks 5 and is destroyed, then 4-2 for 2 more on the other one

    TIE/ln 76:

    TIE/ln 76 is defeated!

    TIE/ln 98:

    TIE/ln 98 takes 2 hull damage.
    TIE/ln
    98 takes 0 system strain.

    • Jaana Raeth shoots off a wing, which smashe
      into the other ship….

    Jaana Raeth:

    next

    Taliq: (( XD ))

    Jshock-GM:

makes a Last shots from the wookiee check!

    Successes:
    None
    / Advantage: 3

Taliq: (( Just a warning shot
    ))

    Lowurra:

    • Lowurra GRAUUUUUU (Blast!)

    Jshock-GM:

    Taliq?

    • Taliq flicks the hyperdrive into action and
makes the jump to "light speed"

    Jshock-GM:

Stars blur into streaks and you
    disappear…

  • Mathus breathes a sigh of relief and leans
    against the wall a moment.

  • Mathus:

    "Engineering to Piloting. We don’t
have any hyperspace worms trying to eat us, do we?"

    Taliq:

"… where are we jumping too again?"

    Jshock-GM:

… mere seconds later, you drop back
out of hyperspace. Readouts show you are on the edge of the system.

    Jshock-GM:

That’s when several things hit you:

    Jshock-GM:

    1) this ship STINKS! It smells like
    rotten meat and musky lizard

    Jshock-GM:

    2) A strange grunting can be heard
    playing over the intercom (loudly)

    Jshock-GM:

A klaxon is going off (loudly)

    Taliq:

    Taliq:

    …?

    Mathus:

"…Lovely. It smells bad and sounds
like he was smuggling slaves. Could someone please see what new
    trouble we’re into now?"

    Jshock-GM:

Also, Taliq; several icons are going
    off on the dash

  • Taliq squints at the dashboard

  • Jshock-GM:

    A big flashing "fuel l"ow

    Taliq:

    "That’s not a good… sound…"

    Jshock-GM:

A small flashing crescent shape (like
    a half moon, or claw)

    Jshock-GM:

A red icon like a simplified cage

    Mathus:

    "…What isn’t?"

  • Taliq taps the intercom switch

  • Taliq:

"Hey… someone want to check the
    cargo…?"

    Lowurra:

    • Lowurra starts howling from the gunner’s ball

    Lowurra:

    GROWWWWAWAWAWAWA (SMells like death!)

    Taliq:

"Scratch that… let’s ALL check the
    cargo…"

    Mathus:

    "…Roger."

    • Mathus leaves Engineering and regroups with
      the others.

    Lowurra:

    • Lowurra is covering his nose and recoiling
    • Taliq jumps out of the pilot seet and runs
      to regroup

    Jshock-GM:

It REALLY stinks in this section

  • Taliq high fives Low and Mathus

  • Jaana Raeth:

    "What is it now??"

    Taliq:

"Don’t we make a GREAT crew?!"

    Taliq:

    "Where’s Jaana?"

    Jshock-GM:

…lone wolfing it in the other
    gunner’s ball?

    • Mathus … meekly takes the high-five?

    Mathus:

"I, uh, don’t think this is the time
    for that right now…"

    • Jaana Raeth climbs ‘up/down’ from her
      position

    Taliq: (( XD ))

    Jshock-GM:

That weird grinting is still playing
    over the intercom…

    Taliq:

"Hey, we did well… can we bask in at
    least one moment?"

    Jshock-GM:

1 setback to all skill rolls

    Jshock-GM:

    Another setback for the smell

    Mathus:

"I’ll buy drinks once we’re safely at
another settlement… not in deep space with… something else."

    Taliq:

    "Yeah OK… enough basking… Let’s…
kill whatever is making that noise"

    Mathus:

"Let’s figure out what’s doing this
and decide whether to save or jettison it."

    Taliq:

    "Someone prep the airlock…"

    Jshock-GM:

Ah, wait, misread. Smell is adding a
setback, grunting is actually more irritating; upgrades difficulty
    for tasks that need concentration

    Jshock-GM:

The wookiee is taking 2 setback from
the smell; he REALLY doesn’t like it

    • Jaana Raeth tries to pinpoint source of
      sounds…

    Jaana Raeth:

    makes a Perception check!

    Successes:
    None
    / Advantage: 4

    Jshock-GM:

Oh, no roll for the sound; it’s coming
    through the intercom

    • Jaana Raeth leans against a bulkhead.

    Mathus:

How about the smell? Where’s the smell
    coming from?

    Jaana Raeth:

"So, mr engineer… where woudl YOU
    put a secret hold?"

    Taliq:

"Let’s hold up in the cockpit and
flush the rest of the ship…"

    Jshock-GM:

    Make a Perception; Average, no
    upgraded diff

    Taliq:

"Should take care of the problem"

    Mathus: (( Average = 2d? +1 setback? ))

    Jshock-GM:

    yes

    Mathus:

    makes a Perception check!

    Successes:
    1
    / Threat: 1

    Mathus:

"What if they’re friendly? Or at least
    non-hostile?"

    Taliq:

"… they won’t be for long"

    • Taliq smiles dispassionately

    Jshock-GM:

OK, you can definitely tell the smell
is coming from somewhere beneath you. You notice the deck plates
look like they can come off.

    Mathus:

    "…Here."

    • Mathus squats down and begins pulling off
      the deck plates.

  • Taliq shrugs and begins helping mathus

  • You whisper to JeffG: you get
hit by it first; a mix of rotting flesh and nasty wet fur. That’s when
    you see them

    You whisper to JeffG: Wookiee
    skins.

  • Mathus gags and gasps, drops the plate and
    backs away.

  • Mathus:

    "…Wookie skins."

    Mathus:

    "Smells like rotting flesh down
    there… urk"

    Lowurra:

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!)

    • Jaana Raeth lets the wookie do the heavy
lifting and keeps the group covered

    Taliq:

    "Hmm…"

    Taliq:

    "… I’m sorry Lowurra. I really am…"

    • Taliq frowns

    Lowurra:

    • Lowurra seems to be in the middle of a blind
      rage

    Jshock-GM: (( he’s throwing cargo
    containers, etc ))

    • Taliq backs away and unholsters her weapon

    Taliq:

    "Lowurra… its OK!"

    Mathus:

"GAH! That’s not helping matters any!"

    • Taliq locks the door

    Jshock-GM:

you hear him sniffling from the other
    room…

    Taliq:

    "He’ll tire himself out…"

    Mathus:

    "Alright, uh… maybe someone else
should dump the skins and bodies?"

    • Mathus glances at the other 2 lithe crew…

    Mathus:

    "…Like me…"

    • Mathus sighs.

    Taliq:

    "I’ll do it"

    • Jaana Raeth looks ill suited to heavy lifting

    Taliq:

    "Wouldn’t be the first time…"

    • Taliq gets to work pulling out the carcasses

    Jshock-GM:

You could probably stuff them into
    some nearby cargo containers

Taliq: (( Not just pile them into an airlock
    and flush them? ))

  • Mathus helps Taliq.

  • Mathus: (( Let’s put them into the containers,
    then flush the containers. ))

    Taliq:

    "Sith spit… Those frakkin’
    Trannies…"

    Jshock-GM:

I’m saying you could do both so the
wookiee doesn’t have to see it

    Taliq: (( LOL ))

Taliq: (( yeah good point ))

Taliq: (( Wait… Do wookiee burn their
    dead? ))

Taliq: (( We could hold a ceremony in the
    airlock
    ))

    Jshock-GM:

I was just looking that up

Taliq: (( Someone make a… Knowledge
    (Wookiee) check?
    ))

    Jshock-GM:

    Go ahead

    Mathus:

    makes a Knowledge Wookie check!

    Successes:
    None
    / Advantage: 4

    Jaana Raeth:

    makes a knowing something check!

    Successes:
    4
    / Advantage: 2

    Taliq: (( lol ))

    • Jaana Raeth ’s survival training included
      time on Kashyyk aparrently…

    Jshock-GM:

That would be an awesome place to train

  • Jaana Raeth fills in the others on proper
Wookie burial/cremation practices she is aware of…

  • Jshock-GM:

    You think it varies by situation;
flushing them probably wouldn’t be inappropriate. You don’t think
the ship’s systems would let you light them on fire.

    Taliq: (( XD ))

  • Mathus is in favor of whatever is respectful
    yet fast.

  • Jshock-GM:

It’ll take an Easy (1p) Computers to
set up the loading bay room to vac out

Mathus: (( Especially since we still have
intercom grunting to deal with. ))

    Mathus:

    makes a Computer Vacing check!

    Successes:
    3
    / No Advantage or Threat

    Jshock-GM:

So no sweat. You crate them up, put
them on the loading ramp, hold a short ceremony…

    Jshock-GM:

    What’s the ceremony?

    Jshock-GM:

    Final rites?

    Taliq:

    "… I’m sorry…"

    Taliq:

    "… shit happens… such is life…"

    • Taliq looks expectantly at the others

    Lowurra:

    • Lowurra Goes from sad to sad and unimperssed
    • Mathus stays silent, knowing nothing of
      Wookie-stuff

Taliq: (( I’m making it worse XD ))

    Lowurra:

GROO! WAW WOOG GRAUUU WOG WOG (Go forth,
brothers! Rejoin the life tree, and know I will have revenge for
    your deaths!)

    • Jaana Raeth uses soem paraphrase wookie
      shaman final words passing….

  • Mathus shunts them into space. Perhaps
they’ll crash into a TIE fighter or two.

  • Lowurra:

    GROWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! (GROWWWWWWWWW!!!)

    Taliq:

    "…"

    • Taliq sheds a couple of tears in the face of
      the wookiee’s passion

    Lowurra:

GROOG NOG GRUUU (Now someone shut off
    that blasted grunting already!)

    Taliq:

    "… revenge I can do"

    Mathus:

    "…Alright, so, uh… we have
    grunting to look into?"

    Taliq:

    "right! Let’s do that…"

    Jaana Raeth:

"Can’t you pinpoint WHERE that signal
    is commin gfrom?"

    Taliq:

"First of all, let’s NOT split up…"

    • Mathus pauses, then taps into the comm
system to see if he can.

    Taliq:

"Room by room search, as a team…"

    Mathus: (( Computers? ))

    Jshock-GM:

Go for it; Average, but upgraded (1d1c)

    Mathus:

    makes a Computers check!

    Successes:
    3
    / Threat: 1
    Triumph: 1/

    Jshock-GM:

The music player is on; file reads
    "Gamorrean opera: greatest hits"…

    • Jaana Raeth facepalms

    Taliq:

    "Oh please no…"

    • Mathus stops it.

    Mathus:

"We may need to customize that later."

    Jaana Raeth:

"Switch that to John Williams already!"

    Jshock-GM:

    the grunting is shut off.

    Taliq: (( lol ))

    Mathus:

    "…Still, perhaps we should search
the whole ship. We don’t know what he was carrying or, knowing our
luck, if he was put back on the ship."

    Taliq:

    "We should stick together"

    • Mathus nods.

    Mathus:

    "That too."

    Jshock-GM:

    Where you going?

Mathus: (( Minimal odds of anyone finding us out
    here, right? ))

    Taliq:

"I mean, we should tour OUR NEW SHIP"

    • Taliq grins

    Mathus:

We’re searching the whole ship as a
group. AKA you choose what we encounter first.

Taliq: (( Do a room by room sweep of the
    whole ship? ))

    Jshock-GM:

It seemed pretty vacant when you
looked; will probably take hours for that ship to plot your
    course, at any rate

    Jaana Raeth:

"Shouldn’t we be setting course to a
better position? Don’t want the imps to somehow calculate our
    position here…"

    Jshock-GM:

    the star destroyer, I mean

    Taliq:

    "We have time"

    Mathus:

"It should be a couple hours for them
to do that. Key word should. Let’s just take a few minutes to
ensure there’s no other surprises first, K?"

    Mathus:

"The destroyer will take hours to find
us. Anything hostile on here will take minutes."

    Jshock-GM:

OK, if you’re just taking a glance,
I’ll just start at that hold at 2 o’clock and go
    counterclockwise…

    Jshock-GM:

#2 hold: Workshop. Droid parts are
    scattered everywhere.

    • Mathus frowns at the state of the workbench.

    Mathus:

    "…Such crappy tools…"

    Jshock-GM:

That little hold at 11: Filled with
old cargo containers and trash. Looked like most were empty.

    Jshock-GM:

#1 hold: Where you are now. Smugglers
compartments, and a holochess set covered with bits of food.

    • Mathus blechs.

    Mathus:

    "This guy was disgusting…"

    • Taliq notices the kitchnette

    Jshock-GM:

Cabin: Surprisingly neat. 3 bunks. A
small shrine sits in one of the corners, and a skin lies on the
    floor.

Mathus: (( What kind of skin? ))

    Taliq:

"At least it’s not a woo- COUGH"

    Jshock-GM:

    Knowledge – hard

Taliq: (( OOC looks like it’s from Hoth :3 ))

    Jshock-GM:

    it’s not a wookiee

    Mathus:

    makes a Knowledge check!

    Successes:
    2
    / Threat: 1

    Jshock-GM:

    It’s a wompa

    Jshock-GM:

    wampa, sorry

    Mathus:

"Wampa skin. Maybe we should toss that
    out the airlock, too…"

    Jshock-GM:

Probably worth something to the right
    clooector…

    Jshock-GM:

    collector^

    Taliq:

"Yeah, let’s toss it… (into the
hold, we’ll sell it on Nar Shadaa or something)"

    Taliq:

"Same goes for that Tranny statue…
    urghh"

    Jshock-GM:

The statue looks like it’s made of
gold; it depicts some sort of trandoshan god with multiple arms
    (Each has a weapon)

    • Taliq is intersted in the gold, but less
      what shape it’s in

    Jshock-GM:

    OK, next; engineering bay

    Mathus:

    "Gladly."

    Jshock-GM:

Nothing too interesting here, at a
    glance

    Jshock-GM:

    Lastly, we have hold 3.

    • Taliq looks at Mathus

    Taliq:

    "Yours…"

Taliq: (( wrt engine room ))

    • Mathus grins at that.

    Jshock-GM:

It’s been set up with force cages; as
you enter, a twi’lek in one of the cages looks up in fear

    Taliq:

    "Oh greeeeat…"

    Taliq:

    "Just what we need"

    Mathus:

    "…Huh?"

    Jshock-GM:

his fear suddenly changes to curious
    surprise…

    Taliq: (( Sorry
    ))

    Mathus:

    "What?"

    • Taliq smiles at the prisoner

    Taliq:

    "Hi!"

    Jshock-GM:

"…could one of you maybe get me out of
    this?"

    Jshock-GM:

    FAde to black

    Taliq:

"We could. Doesn’t mean we will…"

    Taliq: (( lol ))

Taliq: (( good place XD ))

    Jshock-GM:

Alright. I’m going to put a forum
topic up about starship combat, because I think it might suck

    Xie:

    lol

    Xie:

I get why all of those pilot things
    don’t need pilot checks though

    Jshock-GM:

I need house rule ideas to make it cool

    Xie:

    They’re maneuvers

    Xie:

BUT… when it comes to piloting…
it’s all about the maneuvers XD

    Jshock-GM:

yeah, but it’s so toploaded on
    maneuvers; need more actions

    Xie:

    Right

    Xie:

only simple things should be maneuvers

    Jshock-GM:

Also, engineers need more to do

    Xie:

I’ll have a read of the beta rules

    Xie:

how likely are we to run into ship
    combat again any time soon?

    Jshock-GM:

    I wouldn’t mind making it a regular
thing, but only if it’s fun

    Xie:

    Right…

    Mathus:

Well, the beta rules look more
    in-depth.

    Xie:

OK, we’ll talk about it _

    Mathus:

For example, they had something about
    the engineers boosting/focusing shields.

    Jshock-GM:

yeah, I’ll give that section a read,
    see what they have

    Xie:

    I should get to bed

    Xie:

    GG all!

    Xie:

    We did alright ^^

    Mathus:

    Yep, cya guys next week.

    Jshock-GM:

Also, you guys have more XP

    Mathus:

BTW, have we gotten more XP?

    Tygaran:

    night… heading out myself.. cya

    Mathus:

    Ooo! How much?

    Jshock-GM:

    10 more

    Xie:

    I like XP

    Xie:

    ’night Tyg

    Tygaran is disconnected.

    Jshock-GM:

the wookiee needs to game; he’s got 20
    unspent

    Xie:

    cool

    Xie:

    Hahahahaa

    Xie:

    night all

    Xie:

    see you on the forum

    Xie is disconnected.

    JeffG is disconnected.
